This is story about pine wilt disease

bursaphelenchus xylophilus is spread by a specie of nematode. This thread-like eel worm resides inside pine trees, then penetrates its resin canal while eating away the sago. The disease halts the resinous secretion, as well as the flow of the pine’s water and nutrients. There is no known cure, the infected tree has no chance of survival. Within 6 days of infection the needles and leaves will start to brown, by 30 days it will become red and wither.

How to identify an infected tree:

1. Dying without any apparent causes
2. When leaves start to wilt in the shape of an umbrella Storing & using as firewood, as well as transporting of infected trees are illegal.

If you spot an infected tree, report to your local authorities
